So, here I am, at work.
So, here you are, reading the drivel I type.
I suppose I may as well make it worth your while...
Sad to say, B. is under the weather. She seems to have a nasty cough that abates only with medication and rest. I suspect that some of this is due the ungodly amounts of dust (drywall and regular) that have been kicked up over the last 7-8 days or so. Some of it is probably due to the weather. Cause aside, when I took the kids to the bus yesterday, she started several coughing fits that would pretty much guarantee that she would be sent home. I decided to cut out the middleman and kept her home. I called out from work, and we sat around dozing for the first part of the day and watching The Mummy Returns and Pirates of the Carribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl on USA for the second part of the day. During commercials, I did more cleaning, dusting, and organizing in preparation for the painting of the dining room. After dinner, all 4 of us took on the daunting task of cleaning the teacup collection, the knick-knacks on the hutch, and everything out of the hutch and china cabinet.
Aside #1: We haven't moved those two pieces of furniture since we moved in 10.5 years ago. The color difference between the carpet then and now was nothing short of disturbing.
Aside #2: If anyone had told me 20 years ago that I would have a teacup collection on display in my dining room and a collectible Barbie display in my living room, I would have laughed at them and called them batsh*t crazy. Yet, here I am.
Well, the Dining room is all but ready for us to paint. There's one bookshelf that needs to move, and one set of drawers that needs to move. And neither of those need to move for me to paint the ceiling. I'll stop on the way home tonight for paint and some supplies.
Don't I lead the exciting life?
