RIP: Ernest Gary Gygax
Mar. 4th, 2008 01:26 pm(My thanks to
merseine0613 and
delezanfor posting this information)
Gary Gygax has passed away. Info first came from the the Troll Lord forums and is probably the best place to find info if you're interested.
I never met the man, so I cannot comment on him as a person. That said, this was the man who helped create an entire genre of gaming that has been such a profound and integral part of not only my life, but of my family's life. I remember the getting the Dungeons and Dragons "blue and white" box set for Christmas. I have made many friends and whiled away many hours because of what he helped create.
And of course, he's given me one of my all-time favorite literary quotes: "Ratshit, Batface!"
Thank you, Gary, for everything.
