Wow, look, an update!
Aug. 6th, 2008 10:25 amYeah, it's been a while. A long while.
Part of that has been laziness, part has been busy-ness, and part has been a lack of interesting things to talk about. Mostly busy.
Back on the 23rd of July, the project I have been working on since March was pushed out to all computers in the agency. Simply put, it was an update to the security settings as mandated by OMB (Office of Management and Budget). Turns out that the gov't IT people here were under the gun as well. As expected, things went to hell in a bucket. It's 2 weeks later, and we're still cleaning up the machines that went into hissy-fits and occasionally finding new potential problems.
Had 3 people leave the contract at work as well in the last 2 weeks. Not good.
Weekend before last was spent in NJ for the baptism of my niece G. Nice ceremony, not too long. Lighting did not strike me as I entered the church. Couldn't help but flash on the baptism scene in The Godfather. Got to the reception afterward just before the floodgates of heaven opened. Last weekend was spent at home doing some cleaning and playing games with the kids.
Not all that much going on, really. It's been a bit quiet really. I've been coming home tired and not wanting to see much of a computer.
I remind you all to have a good day. The very fact that you woke up on the proper side of the grass this morning makes it a great start to a good day.
