Hey y'all. Welcome to Monday of Thanksgiving week, and hopefully the first day of a short work week. And if it isn't for you (as it is for my non-US-based readers), then, well, here's hoping it's a good week anyway!

Anyway, so after work on Friday, I headed over to Chuck Levins' Washington Music Center to renew the rental on B's violin. From there, I met the family at Sears so we could get F's holiday clothes as well as some new underpinnins for B. I also wanted to look to see if they had a few things for the kids rooms. Alas, they had nothing I wanted, but we got a new suit for F. and B. got her undergarments. My endless waiting for people to try things on (insert long, overly dramatic sigh here) was interrupted by a call from [livejournal.com profile] stoooooooo, who had some questions for me. Once finished there, we stopped at Burger King for a quick bite, then wandered to the Macy's Home Store, where we picked up a few things. Home we went to clean a bit, as we expected company the next day.

Saturday, we were up bright and early. Unfortunately, I woke up around 1 am feeling like I had swallowed broken glass and coughing. I got up, took some NyQuil, and read for a bit until I fell asleep. First stop was for coffee and Hot chocolate, then to Bloom for some groceries. From there, up to Frederick for the Angel Food Pickup. Once home, [livejournal.com profile] mousecat0 & B cleaned out the fridge while F & I put all the groceries away. Quick vacuum and rest later found us watching something on the idiot box waiting to see if people were going to come over for the game day.

Fortunately, we did. [livejournal.com profile] blaisedec and [livejournal.com profile] nostasia were there first, followed by [livejournal.com profile] byronczimmer & [livejournal.com profile] principia_coh, who brought Cash N Guns as well as Cash N Guns: Yakuza. We played several rounds of this; I won the second round. We then played Munchkin Quest, and after a slow start, I ended up winning this as well. While all this was going on, [livejournal.com profile] mousecat0 was making pumpkin bread, and F & B watched Superman.

Well, Sunday found us having a breakfast of pancakes and porkroll before F & I headed out to do the rest of the Thanksgiving shopping while the ladies baked. We got home, put everything away, and F & I continued to stay out of the way of the ladies. I napped in my recliner for a bit, while F. read. After the baking was done and the kitchen cleaned up a bit, I made some dinner, ran the kids through a round or two of Munchkin Quest, and had them shower before bed.

All in all, a good weekend. Scout meeting tonight, pictures tomorrow, Thanksgiving prep on Wednesday. NJ on Friday. We're off to a good start!

Now, if I could only convince my sinuses that it would be a good idea for them to stop producing huge amounts of crap...

I remind you all to have a good day. The very fact that you woke up on the proper side of the grass this morning makes it a great start to a good day.

Busy, busy!

I hope the sore throat was a short-lived thing.
