I don't know what will happen. And neither does anyone else who isn't part of the higher-ups at SUP.

Should you back up your LJ? Yes, if you care what happens to what you've written. Hell, we in the IT world have been telling you to back shit up for years!

For now, I've also set up an account on Vox as Grayhawk. If the sky does indeed fall, then I have a new home.

I suspect that LJ ain't going anywhere. So sit back, do the backups, and keep on postin'.

I've now tried both ljbackup, which doesn't have any way to export other than to html or xml, neither of which is useful to me, and ljarchive, which I cannot get to properly download (the .exe file - I keep getting an error). When I tried downloading the .zip files, it was not obvious how to install/run the program. So I give up. I will have to go home and back up my journal by hand. Fortunately, I had already started doing that, so there won't be as much to do.

I created a profile over at IJ months ago when LJ was going through a Crisis of Dire Peril™. If LJ kicks it, I'll just start posting over there.

And I've been saving all of my posts and replies since I started on LJ, so even if the worse happens, I ain't gonna lose squat :)
