So, it's that time of year again, the time of year where we celebrate that most American of modern holidays: The Super Bowl (or, as my World History teacher, Mike Gould, called it, the Hyper Bowl)

Alas, my beloved Philadelphia Eagles will not be playing, but I'll still be watching. All I really hope for is a good game and a handful of humorous and/or innovative commercials. I have to admit, I'd like to see the Arizona Cardinals win it (sorry [livejournal.com profile] junkpc & [livejournal.com profile] ginabeth), as they haven't done so before. Were I a betting man, however, my money would be on the Steelers.

We'll be at home, keeping it low-key. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law may come over, but they will be there more for the company and the food than the game. Which is just fine with me.

But hey, here's a few polls for you to fill out if the mood so strikes you.

I'll be cleaning the home office on Sunday, but I'll have my computer monitoring the game. I, too, am rooting for the Cardinals because they are the oldest team in the NFL, and they've never been to the Superbowl, let alone win it. The Steelers have won five out of six trips to the Hyperbowl (love that name). Plus, the Cardinals have a guardian angel by the name of Tilman rooting for them.

If my husband was home, he'd probably make his Superbowl Chili, which includes chirizo (spicy Mexican sausage). Hot stuff! (both chili and husband); Since I'm home alone, I'll just make a plate of Nachos, or I may go for some Fritos with French onion dip.

Enjoy!
